I am a faculty member at Century College in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, where I teach courses in political science. I earned my PhD in Political Science from Columbia University, where I was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. My research centers on human rights, social movements, identity, and digital politics, and I draw on years of field experience in Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Eastern Europe in my work. My academic writing has been published in PS: Political Science and Central Asian Affairs, and I have published essays and analysis in The Diplomat, Foreign Policy, New Lines Magazine, and The Washington Post, among other outlets.

In the time I have left, I am a ceramicist and enjoy biking, cooking elaborate meals, and admiring my cats.
